In this week's email: how to screw up the right way.

Hey friend.

Writing to you from a sidewalk café on a very, very, very beautiful Berlin summer day. I'm drinking a weißweinshorle (that's half white wine, half sparkling water) and just wrapped up a wonderful #entrylevelboss meeting not too far from this here park:

I've been moving s-l-o-w this week. Transitioning out of my hectic travel schedule and into a big month of client work. Transitioning into the summer weather after wearing winter coats in Iceland. Fighting mental molasses the entire way, and I've been late to meet clients two days in a row.

Which is why I feel like a bit of a d*ck, actually. Because today's #entrylevelboss podcast episode is all about how it's cool to be casual, but not at the risk of being unprofessional. And the first rule of being professional is Do Not Be Late.

Vikings and lava, mostly

Hey friend.

I've been a little MIA the last few days, haven't I? If you follow me on the Snap (@alexashowtime), you'll know I spent the first half of this week wandering around the Icelandic countryside in a cape for my best friend's Viking-themed wedding...

...and now, after a series of (literal) traffic jams and (political) hiccups, I'm sitting in a hotel room in Northern England, collecting my thoughts in the middle of all this Brexit chaos. What a week, friends. What a week indeed!

Without going too much into it at all, I think we can all agree that 2016 is a pretty crazy, record-setting year so far. People want change. People are super bummed about The System.

The 5 commandments of not being annoying

Hey friend.

Utterly, utterly exhausted from last weekend's college reunion celebrations. Very glad I went and split open my heart to the joys of nostalgia, but lemme tell you: we simply cannot hack it like we could in 2011.

Have been inhaling a strict diet of green smoothies and sleep since landing back in Germany on Tuesday morning and am finally starting to see light at the end of the tunnel as of this evening.

Me and my friends, five years later.

Anyways, I'm crazy backed up on emails due to reunion celebrations and jetlag. Meaning that this is as good a day as any to remind you all about...

Reunions and Crushes and Tribes

Hey friend.

Man oh man, it's been a productive few weeks around here. We've now released seven episodes of the brand-new #entrylevelboss podcast. We are ready to start taking your questions, too, so send 'em in.

I'm in and out of town for pretty much all of May and June. Tomorrow, I pop over to Chicago (I use the term "pop" very loosely) for my--wait for it--five year college reunion.

I'm currently getting a new group text notification every five seconds about remembering to bring pillow cases and shower shoes. Sleeping in the dorms sounded fun, I think, until we remembered we were sleeping in the dorms.

Hold up while I freestyle on the mic

Hey, friends.

I "discovered" podcasts early last year, which I took to be a sign that I'd truly completed the transition from my early 20s to my mid-to-late 20s.

I listen to them when I'm making dinner, when I'm on the train in Berlin, and when I'm falling asleep at night. (That's probably not heathy, but I mean--choose your battles.)

And I guess I must really be all in. Because, as of today, I now have a podcast of my very own! Ladies and gentlefolk, may I please present, for the first time ever...

The #entrylevelboss Podcast!
