Hey, friends.
Hope your Tuesday is off to a cracking start. I'm curled up in a tucked-away corner of a rooftop bar in London, working my way through projects and and emails... and launching today's music video.
This is a special one for me. I discovered this song in my teens and I'd go so far as to say I think it's one of the best songs ever written. So, when it got suggested for my album, I was beside myself with enthusiasm.
Well baby, there you stand
With your little head down in your hand
Oh my God--I can't believe
It's happening again
Your baby's gone, you're all alone
It looks like the end
It doesn't get a lot better than this song.
I've been thinking a lot recently about what comes next for me after I release The Human Jukebox Project album in a couple weeks. And I know it's gotta be a return to songwriting--so that I can attempt to write a line that comes halfway close to touching people as much as this one cuts into me:
You never thought you'd be alone
this far down the line
I know what's been on your mind
Anyways. I really hope this video gives you some feels, too. And if you feel so inclined to do me a solid, please share it on Facebook using this link. It would mean the world to me if you shared, and I promise it will be fun--you'll get to see some viral internet video magic happen.
I'm already up to 22 shares in the first hour, so it's on its way.
And write me back to tell me what you think of the video, too. So much fun to hear people's reactions.
Big love,
Alexa
