Hi, Friends.
It's National Poetry Day, apparently! My English lit chops instinctively kicked in when I found that out this morning, so I've been spending all day sharing plennnnty of my favorite poems (and, swoon, poetry slam videos) over on Twitter.
Poetry seems particularly suited to what is officially autumn weather here in Berlin. I was in the UK from Saturday until late Tuesday night, which included a very adorable visit to my cousin and her babies in Bristol...
... and now I'm just catching up on work, answering emails, and biding my time until mulled wine season really and truly begins.

Hi friends,
I'm working from home today, and am absolutely delighted to be on my sofa.
I've been in the office three days a week with my biggest client, Zalando, for the last few months--meaning my Mondays and Fridays now feel like special, secret little bookends to my week.
I had an awesome, too-short time hanging in Vienna with Mom & Dad. Headed to ~London~ tomorrow to spend a few more days together before they bounce back to the Americas.

Hi hi.
I'm on vacation.
Well, my half-brand of vacation, anyways. My parents are coming over from the Americas (from San Diego) and I'm popping down to Vienna to hang out with them for a week.

Hey friend.
I am ravenous with creative lust today.
Having one of those afternoons where I just want to go lock myself in a studio and record music and only music and and I just want to make music and that's all I want to do and I'm leaving all things office life behind me from here on out and goodbye forever.
Sigh.
I hardly even want to write this email. (Okay, that's actually not true at all. You fools are great.)
But really... I. just. want. to. sing.

Hi Angel.
How's tricks?
Just realized I'm writing you for the second week in a row with a plate of sushi in front of me, glass of Sauvignon Blanc by my side. I wish I could articulate the excessive regalness I feel when ordering sushi in German. You don't just say seaweed salad, you get to say zee-tang zahl-aht. What a brilliant way to order your superfoods.
I'm feeling my momentum pick up with September on the horizon (and by horizon I mean tomorrow). Basically means 2017 is here. Oh, to return to the days when the end of August meant the first day of school--and when winter break felt like it was a billion miles away.
Anyway. Onwards. My personal reaction to this back-to-school burst of energy is to start zooming out a little, to try and see three steps ahead of myself. Attempt to make a long-term plan or five.
