Hey, friends.
Just got back from a roam around the neighborhood in this beautiful early May sunshine. Why? It's my Berlinnaversary today, baby. Two years ago this very morning, I landed in Berlin for the very first time.
Those of you who are longtime readers know how much has changed and started and expanded over the last few years. But whether you're new here or not, I wanted to take this opportunity to re-post an excerpt of one of last year's most popular newsletters. SO, without further ado, let's enjoy..

Hoobaby, look at Becky with the Good Logo!
Like my new look? I'm having so much fun putting together swaggy new #entrylevelboss branding right now. And our new website, which will launch in just a couple of weeks. Momentum vibes, baby.
It's college graduation season, friends. And all l I can think about is how there's about to be a whole truckload of confused, stressed out new adults out there.
In a couple weeks, I'm opening enrollment for The #entrylevelboss Academy: a new two-week online program designed to bridge the gap between whatever the college career center told you and what it actually takes to get hired.

Hey, friends.
Coming to you poolside today from San Diego. I tell you, the obscenely incredible weather really dampens the sadness and nostalgia of my parents selling my childhood home. Time marches onwards, etc--but whatever, this sunshine situation is INSANE.
Last week, I put a call out asking you to submit your questions and, naturally, you delivered in spades. Several of your questions are being shaped into podcast episodes for the upcoming #entrylevelboss podcast as we speak--but I figured, why wait?

Hey, friends.
I'm in the JFK airport, drinking a Sam Adams on draft (how novel!) and killing an hour between flights. Coming from Berlin, headed back to San Diego. My parents are selling my childhood home, did I tell you? I'm going home to sleep in my own bed one last time. It's a rather surreal thing, especially when it's mostly happening nine timezones away, so I'm glad to be headed west for the week.
To be honest, I've been thinking rather obsessively about family and home and community recently. Chalk it up to a combination of turning one year older this month, losing my teenage bedroom, being underwhelmed the number of people (one, me) living in my current one-bedroom apartment, and a variety of other things. It also implies that you should also be trying to trade up, networking with someone who is more established in their career than you. It's a losing game, really. By default, you will have less in common with that person than you do with your college roommate.

Hey, friends.
It's past 10PM in Berlin right now, and I'm still wrapping up emails. It's my first day back from a real birthday (it was yesterday!) vacation in Sicily (see photo! see Instagram!). I didn't even take my laptop, which is huge for me. As we all know, I tend to have this thing glued to my fingers.
I still checked emails, but didn't respond to anything until I was back. Okay, well, until I was back in the Sicilian airport, anyways. And while today continues to be a very long day of fielding messages (especially after my impromptu birthday party last night), I didn't lose any clients or miss out on the call of a lifetime. Nothing died on me.
I'm at a point in my career right now where I'm not actively looking for new clients--which, as a freelancer, is just about the best thing going. Even still, I could hardly bear to be off duty for a couple days.
